Every once in a while, someone asks me how all of this started. Not just the shop, but the why behind it. And every time I answer, I am reminded that Happy Hippy Haus was never built overnight, and it was never built just to sell something.
It was built from experience. From hard lessons. From listening to my body when nothing else was working. And from a deep desire to help other people feel heard, supported, and confident in the choices they make for their health.
I did not grow up with a straight line path. I grew up moving around, learning how to adapt, and seeing people from all walks of life. Those early years shaped how I show up today. With patience. With empathy. With respect for everyone who walks through the door, no matter where they come from or what they are carrying.
Years later, when my own health took a serious hit, everything slowed down. Living near heavy industry and feeling my body break down forced me to pay attention. Doctors could not give me clear answers, so I started asking better questions. I looked at what I was eating, drinking, and putting on my body. I started removing things that did not belong there. Slowly, I began to feel like myself again.
That process changed my life. And once I felt the difference, I could not keep it to myself.
Happy Hippy Haus was born from that moment. Not from trends. Not from hype. From lived experience.
Building Something in a Misunderstood Space
Opening a wellness shop like this was not always easy. Early on, there was confusion and stigma. Some people did not understand what I was doing. A few even assumed the worst before asking a single question. Instead of letting that harden me, I chose education. Every conversation became a chance to explain, to listen, and to change perspective.
The hardest moments, though, came more recently. Shifting legislation created real uncertainty. There were days I worried about the shop, my animals, and the community that depends on this place. Those seasons test you. They force you to decide what you stand for when things feel out of your control.
I stayed focused on what I could control. Honesty. Clean products. Education. Showing up every day with integrity.
That commitment is why we are still here.
What Makes Happy Hippy Haus Different
At the core, Happy Hippy Haus is not about fitting people into products. It is about fitting products to people.
When someone walks through our doors, they are not rushed. They are listened to. Questions are welcomed. Conversations matter. Whether someone buys something or not, they leave with more understanding than they came in with.
Every product on our shelves is there because I trust it. If I would not give it to my own family, it does not belong here. From our in house Hemp and Stone Apothecary line to Nana’s No No Healing Salve, everything is curated with intention and care.
Nana’s No No, in particular, carries a lot of heart. It is based on my Yaya’s original recipe, refined over time, and shared with thousands of people. The stories I hear about it never get old. Those moments are constant reminders of why I started this journey in the first place.
But beyond any single product, what makes this place special is the energy. People tell me all the time that they feel better just being here. That matters to me more than any sale ever could.
Why People Matter Most
At the end of the day, people are what matter most to me.
This shop exists because of community. Friends. Neighbors. Guests who trusted me. Fellow business owners who supported me. People who showed up during uncertain seasons and believed in what we were building together.
Happy Hippy Haus has grown into more than a store. It is a space for connection, learning, and hope. A place where kindness leads and education follows. A place where wellness is simple, honest, and accessible.
Recently, I had the opportunity to share more of this story in a feature with Voyage Houston. That interview goes deeper into my background, the journey, and the heart behind Happy Hippy Haus. If you would like to read the full feature and learn more about how this all came to be, I invite you to check it out there.
And if you already know me, thank you for being part of this story. If you are just discovering us, I would love to meet you. Come by the Haus, say hi, and see what this place is all about.
We are still here. And we are just getting started.
Till next time!
